This may look boring to you but to me the beach is always a thing of beauty. This short clip shows Merimbula beach on the morning of November 9th, 2006. Just an ordinary day that started off rather overcast and still. Yet the natural beauty of the beach beckoned. I could watch this stuff for a veeeerrrry looooong time! The beach is amazing; relaxing and energizing at the same time. Merimbula is certainly a great destination for an enjoyable holiday.

Aussies On Camping Holiday
Rate: 0 118 views
This small mob of kangaroos had set up camp and were found lounging around and just taking it easy. Obviously they were on holidays! Well, it was a camping ground, so why not? We found them at Pambula beach on the far south coast of NSW Australia. It's a great place for a holiday.

Hungry Australian
Rate: 0 143 views
This young kangaroo was grazing on the grass in the camping ground next to Pambula beach. After walking from Merimbula to Pambula along the beach we followed a path through the camping area to find some refreshments. On leaving the sand behind we immediately encountered this hungry Australian who wasn't the least bit perturbed by our presence. There is an abundance of wildlife in the Merimbula region. It's a great place for a holiday.

Seagull Escorts

These seagulls accompanied us along a few kilometers of our beach walk from Merimbula to Pambula. They appeared to resist a few attempts by other gulls to attract them off to do other things. They were great company and we were surprised to find how much they seemed to enjoy ours. Interestingly enough, a few years earlier we had been escorted along this beach walk by a few dolphins frolicking in the surf just meters away from us for quite a long portion of the walk. Merimbula, on the far south coast of NSW Australia is a great place for a holiday.

Very Calm Ocean Ideal for Canoeing
Rate: 0 100 views
This scene shows the sometimes very calm ocean in the bay fronting Merimbula to Pambula on the far south coast of NSW, Australia. This was taken from a very small beach in Ben Boyd National Park, just across the mouth of the Pambula river, looking north to Merimbula in the far distance with Pambula nearer. This may not be the time and place for surfing but it's ideal for canoeing.

Shy but Prickly Australian
Rate: 0 121 views
This shy Australian was encountered in Ben Boyd National Park on November 8th, 2006. The echidna, also known as a spiny anteater, is a burrowing monotreme mammal covered with spines and having a long snout and claws for hunting ants and termites. Echidnas are native to Australia. Try to spot the long curled claws on the hind legs. Not many photos show these.
