This video shows rare footage of a frilled shark in shallow water. The frilled shark (Chlamydoselachus anguineus) is a primitive shark species, sometimes called a "living fossil" because it resembles extinct species of sharks. Frilled sharks are usually found at depths of around 2,000 feet, but this one somehow found its way into shallow water off the coast of Japan, where it was captured and taken to a nearby marine park. In poor condition, the shark died soon after this video was shot. (Originally aired on Nippon News Network - Jan 23, 2007
